Types of Certificate

Signature Certificates

The signature certificate is corresponding to the signing private key. It will be used by individuals or organizations for signing purpose. The key pair will be generated by applicant/subscriber in a secure medium and is essential to keep his private key in safe custody. The trusting parties can make use of this certificate for signature verification.

Encryption Certificates

The encryption key pair is used by the subscriber for receiving encrypted messages which is encrypted using subscriber’s public key. The subscriber fills in the application and submits to Certificatetiger.com authorized LRAs along with the identification and address proof. The LRA verifies the application, id proof and address proof and approves the request. The Subscriber provides a password in the portal for protecting the encryption certificate. The server generates the encryption key, escrows and makes it available for the customer in the portal. The subscriber needs to login with the credentials sent to his digital id and download the encryption certificate from the portal.

Document Signer Certificates

Today organizations need to be quick in getting things done. But paper is not fast, neither in printing nor distribution. Thus, extensive use of paper doesn’t make good business sense.
Traditional offices have paper-based filing systems, which may include filing cabinets, folders, shelves, microfiche systems, and drawing cabinets, all of which require maintenance, equipment, and considerable space.
A paperless office is a work environment in which the use of paper is eliminated or greatly reduced. This is done by converting documents and other papers into digital form. “Going paperless" can save money, boost productivity, save space, make documentation and information sharing easier, keep personal information more secure, and help the environment. The concept can also be extended to communications outside the office.
The easiest way to eliminate paper is to automate paper-based processes that traditionally require authentication and approvals in the form of physical signatures.
A major difficulty in "going paperless" is that much of a business's communication is with other businesses and individuals, apart from just being internal. Electronic communication in this situation requires both the sender and the recipient to capitalize from the 4 major benefits of Digital Signatures:
  1. Privacy
  2. Authentication
  3. Integrity
  4. Non-Repudiation
This can be accomplished by digitally signing the electronic documents without printing.
Document Signer is an application to sign PDF documents with your digital signature. This software can be installed on any windows operating system. The best part is that it provides for bulk / batch signing of documents.
There are quite a few digital signing software available in the market which allows user to sign documents one by one. But they are as time consuming as physical signatures.

SSL Certificates

SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. It might sound complex, but it's really not. SSL Certificates authenticate your website's identity, and encrypt the information visitors enter on your site. This keeps thieves from "overhearing" any exchange between that Web page and another computer. When you have an SSL Certificate protecting your website, your customers can rest assured that the information they send is secured and can't be viewed by cyber crooks.
An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate is a digital certificate that authenticates the identity of a website and encrypts information sent to the server using SSL technology. Encryption is the process of scrambling data into an undecipherable format that can only be returned to a readable format with the proper decryption key.
A certificate serves as an electronic "passport" that establishes an online entity’s credentials when doing business on the Web. When an Internet user attempts to send confidential information to a Web server, the user’s browser accesses the server’s digital certificate and establishes a secure connection.

Code Signing Certificates

Code signing certificate helps user to develop confidence in downloaded code. It allows users to identify the signer to determine if codes have been modified by someone other than the signer. Signed codes can be Java Applets, Java scripts, plugins, and ActiveX controls of any other kind of code.
